Hi all,

Looking at 3 more of these rifles. Pictures will follow, but in general which of these are the most desirable assuming not messed with ?
The Hungarian draws my attention a little as I will soon have a M95 8x50R long.

Heard G33's can be a little bit of a minefield ?

Okay this one is a Ruskie capture. Insignia has been peened, is all matching, apart from the electro pencilled (or whatever) bolt flag.

Personally G33/40’s are a minefield and are rarely ever matching and are usually messed with. I would go with a G24T or 98/40. I recently picked up a G24T for $950 with a matching bolt, pretty rare to find a bolt that matches on one.

Hmmm, so we have two G33's . One looks "okay" to me, but have some mixed parts (cz?). The other one the receiver markings looks quite "apprentice" like ?
Will split the posts so these are not mixed up

33/40 looks reblued. Stock has definitely been cleaned also. Bolt and bolt takedown are also faked. The rear of bolt, stock & handguard are the only numbered parts of a 33/40 that should match. They aren’t numbered like a standard 98k.

The first one would need to see more pictures. Could be a reblue. It also seems to have an extra marking next to the firing proof by the serial number. CZ marked parts are okay.

The second one is a roach. Receiver markings including the serial number and the bolt as a whole have issues.

Thanks Guys. I thought the second one looked suspect.
More pictures of the first.

I can’t speak to the authenticity of either of these rifles, but the first G.33 looks very nice. I hope for your sake, OP, that it’s a good one because that would be a beauty to add to the collection.

Good, clear images of the numbered parts would help immensely. It would also be good to see pics of the bands, trigger guard, floor plate, stock markings.....

Hi , still awaiting the photos. Just to mention that the roach one I have seen the serial numbers on the other parts, awful awful awful. Kitchen worktop and a few bottles of beer spring to mind, oh and a blindfold

Hi all, just to conclude that all of these went for too much money (plus aggro to get to me). The "good" G33/40 you could of got a half decent 2nd hand vehicle for the price.
Thanks for the help !
