Mauser 98 bnz 4

I have a mauser 98 bnz 4 that has the tooling marks which I am told is late war gun, only problem with whole gun is stock has been cut off below the band, would it be adventitious for me to buyan unmatched sn stock and most likely not from BNZ manufacturer to put on an otherwise number matching gun. I know they are expensive but are available.
 
Need to post detailed pics of it. Your stock may be repairable with a donor end piece grafted on so you can keep the original stock. Many were duffle cut that way. I believe a member here is making the end pieces.

Hard to tell by the pics, but I bet it could be repaired. I'd rather have the repaired original stock than a mismatched one, especially on a numbers matching rifle.
