Hello , their is a member here that had a bolt straightened out saving the numbers on it , I'm looking for the gunsmith/shop/magician/ that repaired it, or any advice on who can restore the bolt , it's a German modified vz24 that has most parts numbered and has a matching bolt , I'm starting to finish up some projects that been sitting for a while. Please anyone, thanks mike

I don’t if he’s “ the guy” for this, but I’d contact Eric Johnson @ https://www.cnygunworks.com/
he’s Vaughn99 here on the forum. He’s the ace of sniper builds, and much more.

I had Americas Gunsmith Shop straighten a bolt that was bent and swept back. It will never be how it once was, but looks infinitely better than it did before.

1) Heat sink. A heat sink is a threaded tool that goes into the bolt body (we made our heat sinks in the first semester of machine shop). It servfes to absorb some of the heat when the bolt handle is heated.
2) Bolt handle is heated to critcal. it can then be hammered (or bent with pliers) straight. Better to use pliers as it leave less marks and less cleanup. Ideally you have a die set (top/bottom) you place it into to straighten, but that means you have to make one and it may not be worth it for just one job.
3) We placed our bolts in a coffee can filled vermiculite to allow them to cool slowly.
4) file work to remove the hammer marks. In you case, it may require some TIG welding to fill in dents and then filing.

Hi , this is something I'm not going to try my self, I want someone with experience, and that's bot me . Thanks Mike
