Hello,
Found some time to do some quick photos of my new High Power rig. Was going to do rifles today, but this one was easier to manage in the time I had. This is my first High Power in the collection. I just haven’t found the correct late b block in the condition I desired. And, the prices on these are getting atrocious! The condition and the fact it came as a complete rig made me pull the trigger.
HLV waffenampt proofed holster.
One mag has no markings, the other has a small proof on the lower back spine.
Check out the mag release button. They hurried that one up a bit.
Grips have no cracks. Unusual as most I see have a crack here or there.
This one is right at the end of things for Nazi occupied FN in ‘44. Here are the last serial number ranges known for these:
D. Rachwal states “production ceased about serial number 62450b”.
R. Whittington states in the book “German Pistols and Holsters 1934-1945 volume II (Revised)” it was 63000.
Jan Still’s book “Axis Pistols” also has it from 01b-63000b.
So, somewhere in those ranges I would guess. Mr. Rachwal’s number is pretty precise and I wonder where he got that number from?
