I've been looking for one of these a while, for some reason not an easy pistol to find. I love the wood grip Radom pistols, have to buy my collection back that I've sold over the years.

not easy to find at all !! Was this bought from the CB collection ? There was a nice one in that grouping and it sold reasonably.

No, got this off GunBroker for $500 less than cb's sold for.

Nice... that's even better ! glad you scored one on the cheap. Blued with wood grips seem more scarce than the phosphate type.

The auction ended on Christmas Day?!?!?!

Excellent find. Second H block is hard to find in general. I bet the block was no where near completed or they were destroyed? Second J, even more so with only 7 known IIRC. Second G blocks are common for some reason but typically with brown grips.

You need a press logo wood grip gun. Jack the Dog had a beauty, complete rig, and got $1400ish for it recently.

I saw that one too Mike... went very reasonable for the condition it was in IMHO.

Very Nice pistol Mike. I've never been a huge fan of these for no real reason. BUT as time goes on I appreciate things I never used to. Can you elaborate on what's serial numbered and what isn't?

Sorry if I'm stealing your thunder Mike, and feel free to add or correct if i missed anything.

On these there will be a serial on the 1. Right side of frame above grip. 2. On the grip saftey, hard to see sometimes. 3. On the barrel, on the lug, i believe the right side. 4. There will be a serial on the inside of the slide towards the rear kind of down in there. A photo will be best to see what i mean.

The frame, slide and saftey should have full serial with letter. Barrel will have last 3 numbers.

Underneath the saftey is an inventory number that has nothing to do with final assembly.

That is a neat radom, love the grips!Sounds like you did good on the price, been looking for one of these late ones ..CONGRATS!
