Guys the rifle could be legit with the DRP marking. Stephan is working on some source material that will clarify or justify the existence of the DRP marking on a wartime rifle.
I have correspondence from Jon beginning in 1942 regarding the SS and the Postschutz so lets see what Stephan can dig out here.
 
Stephan's observations are always worth waiting for, these days I can barely remember my anniversary, - for good reason I never forget that tidbit, but this thread I will leave to Stephans superior methods!

** trends coupled with conjecture is rarely a match for actual facts (like Stephan regularly produce)
