K98k bnz45 mismatch

Far too many late matching steyrs around to mess with a mismatch. It is by far the most common kriegsmodell and almost always matching and near unissued. Mismatch is a mismatch even if “correct” and “factory mismatch” is just wishful thinking. These came with lam HGs but I doubt that is original to the gun judging from the finish.

Oh BTW, I own #3896T, it is pretty similar, except for a matching bolt and not making it to the US (for that reason and when comparing I also believe that the serial you look at must have made it out the factory). Have never posted it for anyway having very close serials in the picture reference, but if its of help for you, I can make a thread for it.

Absolut: I always like seeing the late stuff. So a post of your late Steyr would be really nice to look at.

Totally agree on the $2,600 price tag. Ridiculous territory is where this one sits right now because gunbroker is also going to add their price tags and such to it...shipping, taxes....it never stops.

That’s too much imo for a bolt mismatch BNZ45. As mentioned above…I wouldn’t say these are common, but they do show up more often out of the other late KM’s. They are usually in excellent condition and for that price im fairly certain you can pick up an all-matching example.

I own BNZ45 4667T and there is a lot that looks right about this rifle. I personally feel that vets did pick up rifles and bolts and put them together, and I haven’t seen any crazy out of range late bolts in BNZ45s to make me doubt that, in rifles that are otherwise matching. I can’t prove it, so no matter what it’s still a bolt mismatch. I love the super late Steyrs but that price is a little too high.
