Your opinions please.

I have several possible issues, but I won't post just yet and influence.

First issue I can spot is the seller. The second issue, correlated with the first, is that the bolt is a steaming pile of dog sh*t.

Those bolt serials, save the “9” aren’t even close, these crooks don’t even have to try anymore.

Good thing ya ask here first. Numbers are an abortion! Hate to see people get hosed. Honesty can be a rare commodity these days unfortunately.

I did not what to say anything to the seller until I had other valid opinions. I sent him a note and he has added a note to the description. The thing is, why did it take me to cause a note to be added to the description. I am starting to think with this seller the answer is obvious. The seller lists many interesting items, but so many of them I just roll my eyes at knowing what I do know. Mostly ammunition.

the rest looks fine the bolt has been ground and re-numbered. Yes, he has updated the description as such. It's too bad it's not all matching as it's a nice example. With an MM bolt it's still a nice rifle Just priced a whole lot less.

I commend him for his update. He doesn’t have a good track record… but improvement is good. He has always sold very nice high grade Japanese items. Though, they are less of a minefield significantly.

A few thoughts on this. I agree the bolt numbers are bad, but I DO NOT think he does any of this fakery. He buys and sells way too much (63,439 reviews) to be bothered with this. Could his/his peoples vetting be better? Sure, but you can't know everything about everything.

I tend to agree.. I know him personally as well as others here. Some say positive some say negative things about him. In person my interactions with him have always been positive. As far as the listings on GB and ebay his Machine takes care of this. None are excuses for him but, things get missed and possibly overlooked when dealing with such volume. He's always told me if I ever saw anything that wasnt right or fake listed as real to reach out to him and he'd make it right. Unlike pre98's mentality Im right im the expert !! Larry always will take the advise and change the listing.. This rifle is actually nice less the bolt..

So even after he posted that the bolt is bad it's up over $1100 with nearly a week to go. Interested to see what someone pays for a rifle with a known bad bolt.

Active link has been removed.
My apologies. I thought we were doing that in the past, but I see now, not so.
If I stated just the item number for Gunbroker, I take it that also constitute discussing a live item?

Kind of scratching my head on how to get opinions on something for sale.

Bruce, what is your suggestion?

Thanks,

Joe

Joe feel free to PM me regarding any questions you might have...no problem there. Also you could post up images without any active link. Will be happy to help out!

Gentlemen, please no posting of live auctions. That's one of the few rules here.
Closed auctions are ok for review, but no live ones.

Thanks,
B.
So I have some questions about this. I agree with the above, no problemo. As you stated below in another answer, posting snips of the auction photos is fine and people will usually figure out the what and where.

I don't ever want to appear to be shilling for someone or even chumming, but I have posted about items of interest, mostly in the name of research. Maker, markings, S/N, etc. I recently posted about BRP offering a collection of LP34s. No link even in this case. Thoughts about such?

I would have no issue with this. The rule is pretty basic - no posting active auctions.
While a gray area, images of active auctions fall in that "in between zone" but for now I am ok with that as long as I am not outvoted...lol.

I took it as more of a turd alert, with the bad bolt that wasn’t called out in the description. It seemed the original intent of the OP

If the post was called out as a turd alert I would have taken a different approach.
Instead, it was basically a check on the validity of the posted rifle.
