K98k, made in 1940 by Mauser Oberndorf. Serial number 171 nn. All other numbered parts should have 171 or 71. See the trigger guard, floor plate and follower, those parts are numbered matching. The upper band shows a non matching number as does the bolt. The bolt is from a WWl era Gew. 98. Is there a matching number on the bottom of the stock behind the pistol grip?

So wich bolt and upper band should i put in?

It doesn't matter at this point, it'll never be numbers matching. The rifle should have a turned down bolt though to be "correct". Does the rear band match? The stock was probably replaced at some point.

Agree with Zeppelin, I wouldn't worry about the mismatched parts. The mismatched upper band is at least the correct style for a 1940 dated rifle. See if there is a matching number on the buttplate. Possible some parts added by a second hand user after WW2, some of which saw some pretty rough service and poor storage over time.

The existing upper band is the correct type for your rifle. I would leave it. The original would have had a matching sn and an Eagle over 655 inspection mark on the other side.

Check the serial numbers on the lower band and the buttplate to see if those have matching numbers. If the rifle were mine, and I intended to keep it, I would replace the bolt with an era correct K98k bolt. Then you at least have a “representative example” of a WWll K98k. You could sell/trade the existing bolt to recover some of the cost.

IMO, your rifle would benefit from a through cleaning. The goal is to remove surface rust and grime only. Clean the stock with a damp cloth. Don’t sand the stock or steel wool the metal.
