K98 sling

Hello all,
I have acquired a sling purported to be an original WW2 K98 sling but I am not sure. I was lead to believe that all original K98 slings had 3 holes for the frosch. This sling only has 1 hole. The buckle is not marked and I can find no stamps. The sling is the same length as my L&h sling so it's not been cut short.Any help is appreciated.

Could be cut down from a longer sling like the stg58’s, hard to tell without pictures.

IMO that sling does not appear to be an original wartime German produced sling. Clay may have hit the nail on the head.

It could be an original WWII 98K sling that's been cut down. My first thought was that it might be an MP-40 sling, which also had a single hole, but the tongue of sling doesn't look right.
