Looks really nice. Stock is super crisp and it sure looks like no acceptance on the right side as expected. Butt plate rust is most likely from standing in a damp condition. I still think it's a winner. Congrats.
 
Just a few suggestions for care also, clean the bore as any weapon. Oil the metal, don’t put anything on the wood and if it was your desire to stop the rust on the butt plate, use only oil and BRONZE wool, staying away from the screws. It’s a beautiful and desirable rifle. Thanks for sharing it
BTW the clip of bullets pictured are NOT for that weapon. They look like they are 8mm Styer M95. Not the same cartridge!

A bit OT: I'm somewhat familiar with this serial number. Not sure where from, but either I've seen another K98k rifle with exactly the same serial number, or maybe a scope with this rifle number on it. I'll see what I can find...

Oh wow! That would be interesting, yes if you can dig it up please let me know, that would be something for me to look at, maybe try to get my hands on!
