Looking to make sure this is a solid buy. Asking price is in the mid 1K range. Is the sling original as well?

Any help is appreciated.

The rear sight has been replaced with a S42/G (excuse me if it's wrong, not by the photos at the moment), and seller claims it's most likely a field fix.


Everything else appears to be matching.

For that price you said is good buy for a shooter, But I would pass.

Rear sight and evelation ajustment slide is wrong as is the front sight blade.
There is something curious about the stuff in the barrel channel that is starting
to flake off. That shouldn't be there. Looks a lot like old acraglass. The bolt body
has been numbered to matched.

Are you guys saying that the Germans renumbered the bolt or someone after the war, or it was done to 'enhance the rifle'?
