I received a Polish K29 from a family member. It is missing bolt carrier. Marked F B Radom 1930 and K29 on side. From my research I believe it's a calvary model. Trying to figure out what bolt carrier fits and does it use K98 carrier??
What you will need is a straight bolt. All Wz.29’s and K29’s had a straight bolt. Ideally you will want an earlier bolt for this rifle, you can check out this thread for more info:I received a Polish K29 from a family member. It is missing bolt carrier. From what info I could get from Aunt. Her father in law brought in home after WW2. The cleaning rod was stuck in barrel with out bolt carrier her whole life. Just left in wooden gun rack, you know the old ones with glass door and decorations on it. Haha. Once I got it home was able to free up the jammed round and remove the cleaning rod. As far as I know, it's all original minus the missing bolt carrier. I'll post more pics of rifle and the freed up round when I get a chance. What you will need is a straight bolt. An Amateur Polish Mauser Bolt Study
@runner reached out to me via PM and suggested that it would be a good idea to put together an informative / research post on Polish Mauser bolts regarding what sort of markings or configurations are “correct”, what markings would show up on various Polish Mauser models/variations, what are some...www.k98kforum.com
IIRC, a K98k bolt MAY work but I think the handle gets impeded from fully closing on the stock (I say this because on the examples that I have seen with a German K98k bolt the stocks always had a cutout added the stock by the previous owner to have the bolt handle close all the way). A lot of times you will find SCW export versions of these rifles fitted with WWI Kar98a bolts.
Very nice rifle! Does the stock have any visible proofmarks? Cleaning rod appears to be a replacement.
model # 3733m barrel, front sight, rear sight, and magazine all marked 33. No markings on the stock of any kind???Welcome!
I'm re-routing this to our Beutewaffen (captured arms) sub-forum for greater/more appropriate exposure. Before other members chime in, I'd suggest posting more photos that show other stamps, numbers and markings on your rifle. Any more context on how it got here?
The more verifiable detail you can provide, the better our membership will be able to answer your questions. Looking forward to your upcoming posts!
Best,
Pat
Interesting…for a 1930, there should be a proofmark on the buttstock right side (I have seen D in a hexagon, Z in an Octagon, or a J in an Oval) and a Polish eagle over a D in a hexagon (or another letter in an oval) at the semi-pistol grip.model # 3733m barrel, front sight, rear sight, and magazine all marked 33. That is the subject of this post:Nice rifle. Can anyone tell me the estimated production in 1930? I assume blocks of 10,000? What was the suffix range? Thanks
Thanks for the link. I had read this thread a while back and just re-read it. I have a 1930 four digit d block, I don’t recall the actual serial range at the moment and will have to check. I conclude from the linked thread that it was likely finished in 1931 or maybe even 1932. Mine is a German re-arsenal but all of the original numbered parts seem to be the ones from the original build and of course I don’t know about the ones first numbered by the Germans. I got the gun from a vets widow about 25 years ago and it had/has the original Polish sling on it and seems unfired since the re-build. The rod is a German WaA marked one but showed the thin hard blackish grease wax like coating the rest of the metal inside and out had at least all had liberal traces of that. That is the subject of this post:

Polish Mauser research
I would like to start a thread on Polish Mauser serial numbers and data points of original period rifles that are true Polish as issued or German used. NO SPANISH CIVIL WAR, SPORTERIZED, OR POST WAR. I have read over the train wreck on gunboards, and am more confused now more than ever and...www.k98kforum.com
