I feel kinda bad that I ended up with this. It was listed as having a "divot on the rear top receiver", and I told a more than a few people who asked that the "divot" almost certainly meant a fake sniper notch. A day before the auction, I found out that wasn't the case, it was just a metal defect in the top cover. I felt a little guilty, but not that guilty.
High condition for an original SVT, with almost all of its lacquer finish intact, and a tough to find Podolsk (Factory No.460) which had the smallest production total of the three makers. From the '3' SN prefix, we know it was made in June 1941 which is neat. Trending these is very difficult as very few original examples have survived and some changes were implemented more slowly than others, but I generally categorize this as a second variation Podolsk 1941, by far the most common type seen.
Only negatives on this one are some light idiot damage around the cross bolt, a buffed mag, and a piece of the original cleaning rod appears to have broken off deep within the stock. I don't think its ever coming out.
