Hi there, I have 147 1940 1829 L (lower case) and the receiver of 147 1940 2481 L (lower case). Both were made for the Wehrmacht first, then used for the Swedish contract and were later forwarded to Israel. They are both marked accordingly.
I am usually not fishing in the Sauer pond, but these were of interest to me due to the Tsahal connection. Cool story, btw.
1829 L presumably had been rebored to 8mm Swedish, and, as nobody else uses this caliber, was rechambered to 8mm Mauser again, using a late war spare barrel of "dot" / Czech production.
2481 L was rebarreled to 7,62 NATO and ripped apart later.
