Hi! I’m currently bidding on this Kar98k on gunbroker and everything looks good but I’ve noticed where it says “mod 98” it seems to be in a different font then all the others that I have seen. Is this real or fake? Thank you!

Check out the reference section here on the forum. You'll see some Erma and JP Sauer examples like that. Good luck on your auction. Hopefully you've done your research, Gunbroker is a minefield....

I can't emphasize this enough. Gunbonker and awkshuns have SO many mines you're actually more likely to get clobbered than get a 'deal'. I'm not saying this to discourage you but just being honest.
 
Of all the markings and other things to be worried about when reviewing a K98 for sale on Gunborker, that one is probably at or near the bottom of the list.

I agree. If you’re worried about this marking then you need to stay away from Gunbroker period until you do more research. This is bare bones basic. The stuff you’ll find on Gunbroker you’ll very likely get burned.
