Thank you so much! And I believe that’s the only thing wrong with this rifle is that someone had oiled up the stock!It's E/WaA63 .... commonly found in the channel of Brunn I guns. Attached is a prominent example from an aL-block (1944). Just be aware that there is "something" slopped inside the channel, as the wood inside should be raw as shown in the second pic.
It does look odd, but here's wood SN from an "aK" block.... and whatcha think of the bolt on this "L" block (dot 1943)??the combination of lower & uppercase block letters is odd looking, assuming they did this to contrast with the ai block marking??
perhaps as time went on & stamps wore, it was approved to use the upper case letter, until the replacement stamp was received? Sign of token resistance by coerced Czech workers?
