Help Identifying WWII Kar98k

I have a Kar98k that my great-grandfather brought back from Europe during WWII. I’d love to learn more about it. I’m looking for information on its history and how to identify its origin. Any help or resources would be appreciated! ThanksIMG_9994.jpeg

At a high level, it’s a 1940 Gustloff K98k. There may be some surprises, & more & clearer photos would help a lot. At this date, (1940) most of the metal parts, as well as the stock will show the rifle serial #, 51m. (probably not the ‘m’, but the 2 digits). There will also be other stamps on both metal & wood, indicating who made the part & which military inspector’s office accepted the part for use. All of these marks are important in ‘telling the story’ of your rifle before it fell into greatGrandfather’s hands.

take a look in the photo reference at similar rifles marked ‘337’ to see how yours compares.

A few more photos found some different stamps I guess I have a mismatched bolt and butt plate

I see it's got a 1941 dated barrel and the front sight base is slotted for a hood.

Need help identifying Mauser rifle. Only stamps on the rifle are J8225 and 8225. On the left side of receiver, on bolt and 135 on rear lever
