Hello all!
My name is MicahP and I'm from Fort Worth, TX. I am a complete rookie to the world of Mausers but i'm learning fast. My joy in rifle shooting has mainly been around Remington 700s in .308. After many years of keyhole paper punching and some steel (out to 500yds) i've grown tired of the modern mega scoped, point and click and dare I say futuristic designs of today's rifles. My current rig is a Remington SPS .308 in an MDT chassis, AI mags, vortex razor hd gen ii 4.5-27x56. She'll do ragged holes all day but i miss the excitement of a wooden stock, iron sighted bolt action of yesteryear. Every time I see a 1903 or K98 I drool. As such I've begun my journey to find a decent condition, ready to shoot Kar98k. I apologize in advance for my ignorant attempt at using correct terms, please bare with me!
If anyone can help a rookie out in finding my first Mauser i'd appreciate ANY and ALL help!
Way down the road I may need help locating an proper .50 cal to pay homage to my grandfather who was a tail gunner. His name was Herman "Blackie" Blackmon and flew under Doolittle once my mom said.
