Glad i found this site and cant wait to look around and check it out. I joined as i am an avid collector and builder of firearms and have decided to get an old Mauser action back up and in the fight. Most of the rifles i have collected or built fall into a slightly different genre, with the exception of the mosin( love those things), so when the chance to build a custom rifle based of the mauser presented itself i jumped right in. Hopefully i can identify what action i have with some of your help..... now to get out and look around!
 
Well i looked around and wasn't sure what was the proper section to ask you guys what i have for a receiver so i though i give it a go here. I got a receiver and bolt from my father along with what i believe to be a short chambered shilen barrel in 25-06, and some name brand laminet fancy stock (cant remember what the maker is ). My question is what do i have for a receiver(i believe its large ring only thing i know). I need to order a triggergaurd , floorplate , spring and follower but i am unsure which ones i need. The action has "Deutsche Waffen-Und Munitioinsfabriken Berlin" on the side by the( "thumb"notch?),Mod 1908 on the right front,what appears to be a stylized B and 8045 and a B in a circle, under that it has a F and a 1 or an L. Bottom of the action looking at it has a 5, star,and possible Square with arrow in it.thumb safety has a W on one side and 81 on other,and bolt handle base has 5450 with a P and p. also a ?lower case a or stylized a on the extractor ring. There is no crest or any other markings on the ring other than the ones mentioned. Any help would be appreciated and if anybody has any of these parts or knows where i can get them please let me know. i know everyone is worried about new guys but rest assured im a stand up guy and have references and 100% possitive feed back on The akfiles, and gunco under the same username. thanks guys

Welcome to the forum, which part of NY are you from?
 
Upstate on the border in Ogdensburg, for a few more months. Im moving my family out to MO where my brother lives this summer, to live in a free state and get out from under Coumos thumb.
