Apparently I had a 'premature retraction' yesterday morning. If that’s all mod Miller Tyme can throw towards me, that’s hilarious. Notice how he conveniently edited my post and deleted the part where I edited it to include “Post is back up now, Thanks”. I have the time stamp proof, so he can pound sand. That DOU thread was gone for 20 mins at least! I even reset my phone and rebooted the internet to make sure.
Also, he locked the thread, lol
Your final reply in the OP was very well done. Very matter of fact without resorting to any nonsense.Mission compete looks like. However, I do feel bad for the OP and his purchase. Really sucks to be hit with a reality check after all those positive comments. I’ve been there myself, it stings bad especially when you spend a good amount of your hard earned money.
Thanks. Appreciate that.Your final reply in the OP was very well done. Very matter of fact without resorting to any nonsense.![]()
For the record, I had Waybacked your post too. The save includes your back up comment. If that’s all mod Miller Tyme can throw towards me, that’s hilarious. It's a bit surprising how many people here on this forum gave this rifle the 'all clear'.
You have to pay attention to who is commenting. Not to put too fine a point on it, but while there are people here who very much know their stuff there are also those who don't but will still leap at the opportunity to get their opinion in.
We all get it wrong from time to time. I think it’s people trying to help and be complimentary of a new collector. The bolt pic here was less detailed and probably not too many K98k collectors have examined a matching dou. 42 in hand, much less owned one. It immediately jumped out to me because for the last 35+ years I’ve had an interest in Czech Vz and K98k production and have owned a couple matching dou. 42. The bolt numbering is distinctive and that ain’t it.
Ok good, you had me questioning myself on that one.. Lol...Comparative photo. Bad vs good. I can train a parrot to squawk “it’s fake!” I try to show why whenever I can to: 1) help those who don’t know to learn; and 2) foster integrity and objectivity in the hobby.![]()

The ones Bruce just posed are concerning for sure.Good. Question us both.
