Hello to all from the land of Snow and crazy sports fans. I do not have a K98k at the current time but I am on the hunt. Have several other German firearms though.

At this point the German portion of my collection consists of a 1916 DWM Berlin Gew98 that is roughly 98% Matching, a 1916 Erfurt Kar98a that is 100% Matching and Duffel Cut, a 1916 Erfurt P.08 that is 95% Matching, a 1944 P.35 that is 100% Matching, a BYF 44 P.38 that is 100% Matching, a JHV 41 with 2 non matching mags and correct 1st Contract Holster and then a Butcher Blade Bayonet, Sawback Bayonet and Kar98a Bayonet.

Oh it definitely is, and that is just the German portion. There is also the American, British Commonwealth, French and Japanese portions of the collection.I'd say it's a quickly growing obsession, but I believe you're already on your way

Welcome! As you’re clearly not new to collecting, think about your goals re K98ks, & take your time. IMO this is THE BEST place to find one, or ?, though I do keep my eyes open elsewhere………I saw an svw45 2 weeks ago, reasonable price, but didn’t have cash or know enough to tell if it was ‘good’. Didn’t appear refinished metal or wood, firing proof was simply a Czech lion, no ‘E#’ so postwar, but it’s haunting me that I didn’t grab it!
