GRAVITY KNIFE PRICES??

Difficult to find and typically sell fast for over 1k if in nice condition, fully functional and no sign of repair. I’ve seen a few super nice condition meaning near mint sell for near 2k recently on the “right” sites. I have to say that I saw this coming about 7-8 years ago but wish that I had seen it 20 years ago or better still 50 years ago when nice ones could be had for $50 and less. They have never been what I would call common but collectors could birddog them and pick up a handful per year. I expect like FJ helmets there are silent collections out there with hundreds of examples in them.
 
interesting topic. Like most stuff they have gone up. They were a low price lower interest item. But, I have seen a change in interest. I saw a couple OMG auctions on gunbroker where
two minty first models sold for close to 2k . On average 1k-1500 depending on type and condition. 1st patterns are more common and really nice second patterns are harder to track as I see fewer of them sell..
I have a 2nd type I will be selling soon.
 
Circa 2019 these were brining 800+, took a dip for some reason in 2021/22, but back up into the 800-ish range for your average shape functioning. I’ve sold a few off but kept a few. Great pieces, but I know of guys with upwards of 100 l, especially overseas.
 
Prices went up up up lately mostly because of covid lock downs in 2020 and 2021. You could no longer source items from estates and whanot so biding wars and speculation over at epay became common. This inspired alot of people to jack up the value of their items in times where they needed the money. Simple as that IMO. I've seen loads of fieldgear that is not even rare command high prices unfortunately...
