Thought these two photos were interesting.

Title:

“Germans guard French Jews for transportation.”

Clearly can tell the Germans are police. Rifles are likely Gew 98M, maybe Kar 98B’s?

Second photo almost looks like a VZ-24?

Second photo appears one guy has an Adrian helmet. Likely French police.

Can’t tell about the rifles, but these pics were taken by PK reporters in Marseille January 1943.
The two Germans in the second pic are from the OrdPo.

I think there is probably a mix of rifles in this pic. In the first pic the rifle slung over the soldiers back is probably a Gew98M or Kar98b. Then in the second pic, in the back left corner, there are actually two troops. One definitely has a K98a, and the other one is probs either a VZ24 or another K98a.

On a side note, you can really see just how old the Ord Police are in these photos. They really were pulling from the “seniors” for these positions.
