German obsession with rear sights

I was wondering if an article on the German military's obsession with rear sights would hold any interest to anyone ? From the Gew-88 up to the early K-98k . Most of this information seems to be unknown or not understood . Mainly due to the mis-information about the ammo , when S ammo came out , in what time frame P-88 , S , Ss and smk ammo was developed , and later made standard issue . The Gew- 88 can be found with four different sights . A single Gew-88 rifle could have had three different sights on it during German service . The article would be of more interest to the advanced collector , so who would be interested in publishing it ?

Having developed an interest in collecting and shooting the Gew. 88 I would be interested. I believe I have theee variations in my own collection.

Sounds like it would be a pretty interesting article. I think it would probably be much appreciated by most or not all the Imperial collectors on there. I have three variations of the Gew 98 rear sight in my collection.

I agree it would be interesting. I found a sight the other day in a parts lot that took me quite a while going through books and threads here to determine what it was.

I don't have any good recommendations for a digital publishing source, but I have worked with a local print shop on several projects and have been happy with what they have made for me regarding little booklets, pamphlets, prints etc. Depending on what you want they can be pretty reasonable.
