German helmet with shield

It looks like a criminally insanely rare example of an Austro-Hungarian German contract helmet with brow plate unique to that pattern. I’ve never the actual brow plate for these in person but I doubt many exist more so with the strap.
 
In WWI, "stirnpanzer" were attached with a solid leather strap around the back and to the protruding vents on each side of the M16/M17 helmet.

But man $10,000 for that one.. I would have go for some matching K98 instead

Yes the German ones were attached with a leather strap but the Austrians used this specific weave of flax weave with leather reinforcement like the strap in the photo and the same for their helmet chinstraps. The shield itself is also a different shape and slot set up than the German version. I had stated a German contract but I’m thinking that I’m wrong and the plates at least (and probably the helmets also) were Austrian made. I just know very rare and also the interest in A-H material from the Great War is really high. Maybe not that much more in the US but very much in Europe.
 
I have had 2 plates in my collection. The one pictured is very different in the way it mounts. The German model has slits to install. The one in the picture looks like it was mounted very differently. Maybe factory?

As I stated, I believe this to be an Austrian made version and yes it’s different from the German shield in several respects to include the mounting holes/slots but maybe more so even the basic shape and form and perhaps size proportions. The strap is also different. The Austrian German style helmets also came in at least two versions that roughly but not exactly corresponded to the 1916 and the 1917 versions the Germans used.
