This shite saga gets more and more interesting by the moment. This guy buys it in April '17 for $800 and finds out it's super fake spectacular. It get listed in August for $1495 with a $2995 BIN. Now it's listed for $1725. This guy says the hump happened 'a real long time ago' but I can easily spot MORE differences from last April to now.

Once members told him what the problems were he corrected it. That way it would make it even look more deceiving to the unknowing individual who wanted to buy this piece of crap.

An excellent, EXCELLENT example for the newcomers to learn from. It's stuff like this that ruins the hobby by burning new collectors.

If it can be shown that the rifle's humpage quotient increased while in the possession of this seller, he needs to be permanently banned from GunBoards.

Seller's (attempted) GunBoards username is Morrisod

Relisted on GunBroker by username Salparadise from Fairfield, CT

This.
Being a dick should hurt.

Do you know what's missing from this dumpster fire? Shooerike roasting his marshmallows over it. He's been conspicuously absent over there for a while, and I can only hope some 'executive action' happened to him.

I think this is the only place I'd by a non RC Kar98k, based on what I've seen lately.

There seems to be no shortage of cutthroat oxygen thieves out there, who are actively pumping out fraudulent rifles. Just a cottage industry out there.

It's really a shame.

I'll let people draw their own conclusions however IMHO something has been done to the fake bottom metal numbers. In the snips from April in my previous post it's VERY obvious there's remnants of different numbers visible. In the very latest ad I can't see any trace and there now appears to be some 'scrubbing' in the area.

I think the current seller is getting more shifty but still standing by his 'all matching' claim. The channel number from April where the 2nd digit is clearly a 3 not 2 and also shows 2 other altered digits is not included in this latest sales ad. I can't imagine it's exclusion is arbitrary?

It's been quite hard to get a handle on who actually owns it, who's selling it or any chain of custody. This was brought up in the response thread. If they are all different people this thing has moved a lot in 14 months.

$1.75? What's been said lately about collecting is true - it's a rich man's hobby :biggrin1:

Indeed Pat. But I'll pay not a penny more  Does it appear that the auction seller is knowingly selling a fake?
