G98/40 Barrel Band Source

Just though I'd put it out there that I came across an un-altered G98/40 lower barrel band with screw on eBay. I know how rare these are so I'm hoping it helps someone out.

$100 shipped may seem like alot but I was actively looking for a year and I only ever saw one other set come up for sale and they wanted $375 for both bands.

Only bad part is it looks like AAS Sniper is now making repros and doubt that the bands is original. I am surprised that it has taken them this long to have them made as there is quite the demand for band sets and bayonet lugs for these rifles.

They have been selling all kinds repros for a long time, although they don't advertise them as such. The quality is very high and in many cases hard to tell from original manufacture. Much better than the vinegar-aged crap from east of the iron curtain.
