G43 butt piece

I put a post in the trader section as well. I have an original G43 stock that someone cut down at the butt end. I am looking for a 1 1/2 section so I can splice it back on and have the proper length stock. I have attached 2 photos so you can see what is missing. I am wondering if a K98 cupped butt will work and I can hollow out the center for the trap door. Let me know what you all think. s-l1600.jpg2.jpg
 
I have seen this a few times where guys cut them down postwar to put a rubber pad on. I have a stock that I removed from a K43 that was just as you describe. I would offer that up but It's likely got the same issue yours has.
 
Saw one a couple years ago that had a K98 stock grafted on at the wrist. Looked weird but worked.

There was one on ebay recently that was grafted. This will be along the same route as I am going with this one. The wood grain on the K98 stock (was a chopped sporter, I couldnt bring myself to cut a good stock even though I found 2 cheaper than the sporter stock that I bought) that I got is very close to what I have now. I dropped a DUV44 in this stock and it fits like a glove so I want to save it even if it has the grafted look. I actually saved the barreled receiver from oblivion. It had the rear sights sheered off, the barrel shortened a half inch, and the gas block moved from the top to the bottom of the barrel for some strange reason. Apfeltor did really good work on it and it has the "been there done that" look to it. I will take a photo of it when I get the stock complete but here is a photo of the stock that was on ebay that was grafted. I will be going along with this route. s-l1600.jpg
