You mean the panel cut? Yes. Not uncommon on ac43s and early ac44s. They start showing up again sporadically in the later half of 1944 into 1945.

The panel cut was the 'original' way to mark the G43. They eliminated the step as it was costly, time consuming and unnecessary. Late rifles (44/45) with the panel cut are generally and likely previously rejected receivers pressed into production. Any panel cut is generally a tougher rifle to find from my experience. 1943 production rifles are also a 'gem' in my opinion. The vast majority of rifles out there are 1944 production it seems.

The panel cut is from earlier Walther G43s from what I've read as the later Type 3 rough forged receiver relaced the milled panel and finely machined receivers and is the most common to my understanding. I found another panel cut ac43 G43 similar to what OP had pictured (mismatched bolt carrier, images attached) online recently. Just sold today at auction for $4500 hammer price. I'm relatively new to G/K43s so is this the going rate for a mismatched AC43 G43? What do matching ac43s go for?
