G41

Nice rifle. Stock will clean up easily with a few wipes of a cloth with acetone. Bronze wool and oil will handle that minor surface rust and she'll look fabulous.
It'll look pretty good unless the stock is sanded, but stock looks good in those images. Still, you can't say it's un-messed with.
I'm not a fan of that one image of the recoil lug and the cutout (the gap) but it's not the best angle and definitely not enough images.
What are they asking? Surely it's worth 4k and maybe up to 5 but after that it becomes a question. To me, $4500 tops but I'm not needing nor wanting another G41.
Can you recoup any investment into it if you decide to move it afterward? That's how to justify the price.
Again, safe at $4k and maybe $4500, not so sure after that.

that's really fresh red rust. Start with kroil and a stiff rag or old face cloth. You will be surprised how much comes off. the stock is another issue. Stripping it incorrectly can make it look worse. Its flaking maybe compressed air may help or natural wear ? I wouldn't let that bother me too much its a really nice example.

I'm thinking the same thing. We can't say too much without seeing the serial numbers. People are giving values and saying it's nice but what if it's mismatch? Or a number has been faked? Can't give an opinion with these pictures in my opinion.

That, and I can't check my serial number listings for them to see what history there is of the rifle (if any). You never know what I came across in the past with some of these. Ask for help, which is fine, but help us out that track these. Give and take if you will.
 
I would NOT touch the wood with acetone, that will clearly destroy any original finish. Start with alcohol and carefully work up on solvent strength if the previous solvent does not touch it. It appears as shellac, alcohol will remove it.
