You’re a pretty tough critic! By all accounts, this rifle is a very desirable piece. Most collectors would love to own something like this. I’m not sure how it could be described as mediocre. As Bruce rightly pointed out, it has A LOT going for it. Yes, the buyer paid up, but it’s legitimately a rare bird. I’m sure the buyer will be very happy with it.
 
Looks like a completely honest, actually issued, unpimped and unwanked hard to find variant. I wouldn't do much to it at all. As for the price, I wouldn't accept that for either of mine, including my Polish crest one that is in about that shape or less, e.g., here is mine and it's in less condition, perhaps a good bit less, and I wouldn't sell it for that price. Just sayin.

It's worn, but honest ;) Matched to the screws and bandspring, heavily used, combat carry wear but probably had not been disassembled (at least any time in recent history). Dried grease and frozen together parts. It seems when this variant turns up it is in heavily used condition.

I have never regretted paying what I thought was "too much" at the time to acquire either a quality item or something I might not ever see again. The rifle in question obviously satisfies at least one of those criteria for the buyer.
