Found in chicken coop

I thought someone here might find this entertaining.

This rifle was reportedly found under the rafters in a chicken coop in the 1980s and made it's way onto a gun registration card. For some reason, the guy kept it as an active weapon. It was probably stashed by some returning soldat in the mid forties.

Not sure how likely it is that a byf44 would have been stashed in the 1940s with a straight bolt handle?
