I have a new walnut G43 stock I recently purchased from Murray's to swap out from my original cracked one. I've seen people suggest to use Howards Feed and Wax, or just plain Ballistol to treat it, I've applied Howards and it got it to a good color. But I'm wishing it was a bit of a smoother varnish-like finish like my original. Should I keep applying Howard's or should I opt to go look for an actual varnish and if so what's recommended?
