I registered for this board a while back (while on a deployment to Kuwait) but just barely posted my very first thread simply because I have only barely, just as of yesterday, become a K98 owner. I've always wanted a K98 but I, like many I'm sure, decided to get into collecting the less expensive Yugoslav 24/47s and Czech VZ.24s. Even my first K98 was an affordable Yugoslav rework of a BNZ 43.
So far I've added the following Mausers to my growing collection:
(1) Yugoslav M48
(2) 24/47s
(2) VZ.24s
(1) M43 1946 Spanish La Coruna
And now the Yugoslav rework K98 Mauser, these are referred to as Puskas if I'm not mistaken?
I plan to add a few original K98s but thanks to a reassignment to Korea ths May, it'll have to wait at least a year. I know for sure I'd like my first to be a BYF.
I'm active duty, Field Artillery, mobile rockets (HIMARS) and I write a gun blog at http://www.MyGunDiary.com
