helli i have in my hands imo interesting piece of k98k type bayonet.it is unmarked i think there are no visible traces of serial numbers, maker marks and waffenamts, the only markings are imo th regimental markings in wwi /reichswehr style .by the way can You help to decode it?the screws seems to be in III reich style.my theory is that the bayonet was made between the WUK 27-30 and 1934 production code-named 'K' what do You think can it be real?the pommel seems to be painted green i think non fabrik painting but the paint looks old also the scabbard is painted in black.also on my eye the scabbard shape is little untypical for the wwii production it seems slightly narrower -more like wwi producton .im not certain that it will be visible on photos-the lower part of scabard is about 2mm narrower than the 5 wwii scabbrds that i checked..i will be greatfull for any help.regards

I hope the stuff I sent you in pm is of help. I am sure when Andy or any one of our other experts comes on they will be able to tell you more.

yes after ther reading of info from You i think it can be the ''narrow blade '' type along with the narrow type scabbarrd.;ittle shame that i have not cheked the blade earlier it is inded difference about 2mm between this bayo and two random 41fnj and 42fze bayonet from my collection that i've cheked it is too late for the good photo but i will add it tommorow.really interesting thing that i've never even hear about.thank You very much, best regards

Its a nice Railway Bahnschutz polizei piece, which is certainly more interesting as normal wehrmacht S84/98 contract. Looks like typical swamp area found, with large area of special rust, other areas were darkened, the blade was preserved by scabbard. Should be oiled, even the layer rust could be probably not removed, and should be remain as is.
