DOT 1944 K98k

Hi fellow collectors, asking about the same K98k I have in the past. I recently got a DOT 1944 with S/N 190XX a (a-block). I was wondering what style barrel bands and what stock / stock details would be correct. From recent studies I see mostly Kreigsmodel features on the single letter block 1944 guns. Please be specific, as I am going to try my best to be period correct with replacement parts. Thanks!!

GL... period correct will require an unnumbered stock w/ chatter, with E/H in the wood.

Here are some examples that surround your SN ==> late dot 1944
Thanks! That will help a lot should I decide to attempt and rebuild it to a period correct rifle. Out of curiosity, do you know roughly what happened to the DOT make guns, as in where they were sent for issue? Mine is not import marked, but I see it far more likely to end up on the Eastern front than anywhere else. Curious as to where it was, and how it got here..

There were US troops in western Czechoslovakia at the end of WW2, so probably a fair number of "dot" and "dou" rifles brought/shipped home by them. Probably less likely to be in the US as a non-RC, or early import if it went further East and used against Russia, but probably impossible to say for certain.

I've seen vids including color ones shared here of Germans streaming west so it definitely makes sense.
