And for what it's worth it WAS a 'handsome' RC. If anyone has been following along, I think there are some RCs that are quite 'handsome' and some that well for lack of a better word look like a$$

I remember some of the batches back in 03 litterally had the metal coated in thick black paint that was flaking off. At the time it was a no brainer to scrub all that off.

Yes... that 'stove black'. Also, some had the shellac that looked like someone put it on with a mop. It was slopped all over the metal and not well adhered. On some you got both for the price of one.
