Hi. Yes going the same route, the unfinished receiver is now with the Tech Branch. Form 6 on parts kit are sendt to import branch. The import branch have been very helpful and great to work with. D

congrats Tor

gee and when I suggested importing flats, folks here turned up there nose. Now someone is actually bending one. now the kits are coming, keeps getting better

yah, I would assemble the rifles first then offer them for sale.

I along with others will be following with great enthusiasm
You are one of the reasons that we are now going forward. You pushing me for flats, gave us a easy er way. Thank you Sprat

What a great story. The forum and a forum member (sprat) have helped us ALL along the way! Let’s all have a drink tonight to celebrate!!!!

Has anyone actually folded a receiver shell?

Using the DK jig you can only get it halfway bent. First you run out of space to go down because it bottoms out AND the inner jig won't let it close any more also because the narrowest part of the flat contacts the male jig. It's also next to impossible to center the flat since there are no alignment pins.

I just saw this, maybe it will help you? https://www.dkproductiongroup.com/product/bd44-mp44-flat-bending-tool/

There are some pictures describing the process, essentially you bend as far as you can, then continue in a vise with the trunnion in place.

Kind of a moot point now.. savin' up for that Mkb42H buy!

Yes someone has actually bent a receiver, without dingo's jig. This builder is very well known builder and he is treading into unknown waters and has sought out Pete's help . I mentioned it to Pete last week , because he is also considering doing a few. Tor if I were you,I would work out something with Pete if possible. The guy who assembled a few flats that Jerry had and who also worked on the early repaired PTR malfunctioning rifles was not as good as Pete, in fact Pete had to rework some of those also

not sure how to take Mrfarb's post above, I think I have been given the Mick! I never bothered him before

my point to Dingo was that many folks were not in favor of the flats, and now there seems to be great interest, my intent was not to take credit for anything.

I have a flat and I have decided I probably will not do a second semi auto build.

On the contrary, I’m giving you props for being part of this. Your ok in my book!

Pete has my ptr right now, can’t say enough good things about his work on mine.

Oh that is an excellent idea!

Tor yes Pete is the guy when it comes to Sturmgewehrs, his work is top notch. If you are in need of someone to do some building, or folding he might be your guy.

Hi . Thank you for the info, yes i know Pete is a god guy on the 44 rifles. SSD have been making these rifles around 20 years now, so i think MR Dittrich wants to do the job him self. This time the rifle will be 100% SSD made, and with no changing of parts.

Sounds like a plan Dingo! I think we all just really want to see this succeed!

I have another recommendation for you, I would generate a list of all 100% compatible replacement parts with original counterparts, ideally a matrix, on your website. Like part V-03 (random example) and then columns with different original rifles Mp44/Mp43.1/Mkb42H etc.. then a simple check mark or something to signify compatibility with that original rifle.

This will give people an easy solution to find replacement parts, in the end generating more business meaning we all win in the end.

Thank you, we are actually working on this. We will have 2 different schematic s, one for MP44 and one for BD44. It will be an separate menu for MP44 soon, many of the parts will be listed on both modells.

Dingo, have you guys figured the price on the parts kits and what will the kits consist of? Also will you be importing more parts that will work in original Mp44's like the bolt carier group? Thanks

Been away for awhile with this virus crap. Missed the great news. Will be down for a BD44 at least

Do you anticipate the MP44s you build here state side will be cheaper than the PTR-44 when it was released?($5000 if I remember correctly)
