I thought these new production models are advertised as having higher quality parts (?)

The PTR was the original modern import line of the StG series. Those had problems. The new DK StGs should be better since they have improved heat treatment on the parts (need to grab myself a good amount of 7.92 Kurz to find out with mine!)

If you read all of Wilhelm's thread, I think he obtained a Bolt Carrier from DK to replace the failed one on his PTR and it failed too

That is correct. It failed September 14 of 2022 at round 792 on the carrier. Time will tell with these new rifles. Hopefully, they are good to go. We won't know until we hear from people who put real numbers down the barrel.
