Did I get duped? E.Pack&S

Picked this up at an auction and thought from the pictures it looked good. Not a whole lot of description on it.
After getting it today i'm wondering if it has been reblued. After carefully looking at it i'm now questioning if this is a very nice example. After taking the grips off the screws were in there pretty good and lots of grime and dirt. Also does have some rusting going on.
Any info is appreciated.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it has definitely been reblued and the grips are bad as well.

Yah...I know bupkiss about bayonets but have no doubt that is a rebue job...Helen Keller could spot that .

ANy chance of returning it...?

Not really that bad of news. I was leaning more towards rebluing but was hoping i would get something along the lines of "really nice example" as I dont own any superb bayonets to compare it to. Either i'll see if I can return it or would make for a reenactor piece. From now on i'll stick to the forums looking for bayonets

Sure enough is. Looked up the reproduction and its same number and everything. Auction house has horrible pictures and little to no description. Took a gamble and will see if they'll take it back.

I didn't KNOW this is the one they're making but did see the fit and finish is terrible compared to anything original. Even late pieces aren't as clunky as this.

OP, I'd think the auction house would take it back being it's not even 'real'

For reenactmen is ok, but for collectors is not even the prices are not cheap. When could be returned so its ok.
