Deutsches Panzermuseum Munster Germany

Well back starting in March went and did some traveling around Europe. We made a special stop in Bremen just to be able to go out to Munster to go check out this place. If you ever get the chance I would highly recommend it. Some amazing tanks are there including some very rare ones. It was a little cold and rainy when we were there but I had a blast that day. Amazing to see the size of the tanks. Especially comparing early war going to the end of the war. For the pictures will just show mainly the war tanks, but figured throw a picture of some guns they had on display there, and the Merkava. A ton of post war to modern tanks also but then would take forever getting them all on here.

I hope to visit that place one day, it looks amazing. They added the Tiger recently, and I am curious how it looks up close (its been assembled from wrecks and fragments of several tanks.

Its also nice to see a government that actually takes care of and displays their rare and one of a kind tanks. Some people think they are best displayed in the middle of a field covered with shitty white wash, or best preserved sitting in the restricted part of a military base in a hot and humid region.

Nice pics man!!! I regret missing it. But Europe is nuts and gotta pick and choose.

Thanks for posting the pictures - it looks like a really well laid out museum, I will visit at some point.

How long has that museum been there? I was in Germany in 2001, including Bremen; never knew or heard anything about this place. I'm gonna be real disappointed if I missed it. Did also go to Hamburg, think it was there that they had the Bauer submarine, and the E-Boat ( schnellboat). Visit also included two concentration camps, and Octoberfest. Done that twice, and would love to go again.

Thanks so much for sharing.. I'm there next Festung Europa trip... Did Bovington, Aberdeen, Samur, and Patton.. This is next..

Great pics of all my favorites. Danke!

Rook, the panzer museum is in Munster rather than Bremen, so unless you knew about it at the time you won't have missed it - it just wasn't where you were at I''m afraid!

Great pictures, we're lucky that there's loads of the best museums over here in Europe! I also highly recommend the museum in Koblenz if weapons are your thing (there's also some tanks/vehicles too), from large artillery to all the Mkb42-Stg45 family, both FG42's and loads of other rare stuff!!! Pretty much at least one example of most weapons.

Seems like I've seen - and replied to - this subject on another forum?
I have been to Munster several times starting in the 80s. I was a guest at the dedication of the new museum facilities back when ever that was, a long time ago. I have been back a couple of time since, but have not been there in 10+ yrs. It looks like they have made great progress in getting all of the new buildings done. For the dedication they only had the Hq bldg. and one display bldg. done. Lots of Panzers setting outside under the trees and several under restoration in the base work shops - which we also got to tour. Did that in a 1 ton Zugmaschine.
Looks like I need to go back and have a look again!
