Three pages of posts and nobody has suggested the OP turn to the only TRUE expert in SS GEW 98 conversions: shooterike. After all, he possesses the gold standard of SS Totenkopf rifles and could reach out to his Gestapo Boyz authenticators to confirm the obvious.

I messaged that seller and told him his listing and description were BS. He responded asking me to illaborate because he isn’t knowledgeable on these lol.

Clearly this guy stumbled upon the infamous "Authenticator" thread on GB and took it as "proof" that this rifle is legit

Yea, no... I doubt "both sides" gave opinions on this rifle. Pretty much only one side did and they don't want to admit that they're knowingly selling a turd. Pretty sure the Interarms controversy was regarding SCW Gew 98s modified by Interarms down to K98ks, not shenanigans like this...

The seller is spewing utter nonsense. On Dave's site are pictures of the very same rifle from a 2016 Gunporker auction where the picture captions clearly read "Drago Custom Rifles". The liberal use of Def Headz and the giant shield stamped into the butt stock are hallmark "authenticatorz" of humpmeister Drago.

Definitely not noobs either. The guy who won has 56 feedback. I wonder if he even bothered to do any research? About 30 seconds would have revealed that it was bogus.
