Danzig 1917 sniper gewehr

For my first post, this new gewehr direct from attic.
It’s a full same number rifle.
It’s a Danzig of 1917 with GL.V mark on rear visor and bases for a scope.
I think it is either for Oigee or Dr Walter Gerard scope.
let me know your advice.

Looks like a nice, legit late 1917 Danzig Scharfschutze. I can’t quite make out the letter block. Can you do close up photos of the serial number and individual markings?

Here is a similar one that belongs to @chrisftk
 
It is the brother to my rifle
 
That’s a wonderful, late Danzig Scharfschutzengewehr. It’s an Oigee rig, around 370k in for the year, Danzig made it into the ‘nn’ block that year which lands around 400k.

Super awesome rifle. Love how untouched it is. Thank you for sharing! @Amberg might be able to confirm if it originally has carried a Gerard scope.
