Commercial waffenAmpt ss sniper??

Saw this today and guy said it was a waffen ss sniper commercial converted late war? Bolt was cut out for scope usage. One similar was in this pictured book.rifle was all matching on what I could see. Has a 6x scope on it.

Junk. Looks rifle is a late 1944 Sauer.

Non glaring for sniper stuff you know…
Actually I never understood why the Germans left the buttplates in the white. They went to great lengths to camouflage themselves yet they leave an almost chrome buttplate on every rifle.

Probably because it’s a high friction area and the bluing wore off quick
