At my disposal I have zeiss zielvier and am wondering if on a last year production low turret if this scope is appropriate for that mount or a high turret. Banging my head against the wall trying to build something historically accurate, rifle is 44 dated but the mount will cover the maker mark and year so im not concerned about that. I reenact mostly 1943-45 so im hoping to keep the rifle build in that time frame.

Is the rifle code historically appropriate for a turret mount ? Kinda pointless on worrying whether low or high turret is more historically accurate if the base rifle manufacturer never supplied rifles for turret mounts in the first place. Inspection stamps , stock differences… Even if the manufacturer stamp is covered it’s fairly easy to tell who made the base rifle .
