This Mauser has been in the family since 1948. The modification was done before we got the rifle. Does the cut out look familiar?
Many thanx, Chuck.
ps. The barreled action has all matching numbers [with the exception of the safet] series "t", number 7516.
The stock wood and all metal are matching numbers, 7552. The proofs on the stock metal
are confusing. The buttplate is #7552 with gw3 and pB86w proofs. the crossbolt is proofed 63 as well as the band spring. Both bands are proofed 37. Now all these stock parts have the same serial number but different proofs. And the explanation is ?
Thanx again, Chuck.
