So a Erma made bolt thats not matching in a Erma made rifle.

Well, we can say that the bolt SHROUD was inspected and approved by the WaA280 team, but that acceptance can appear on Erma rifles and on Mauser S/243 or 243 coded rifles also. Maybe someone knows whether or not these bolt shrouds were MADE by Erma or Mauser? As was said we would need to see a lot more markings to make a good assessment. Bolt shrouds that have a manufacturer letter code we can lock down as to manufacturer, like “n” or “e”. Let’s see the other markings on the bolt.

The e/280 inspection team went to BLM for a year, I think 1938? And then returned to Erma. Erma used block letters for their letter code and that one does look a bit script like so it may be a BLM bolt from that period. Clearer picture would tell for sure, rare bolt and nice one for the rifle either way.

Thanks, Nick
