Hey guys. Just wanted to share what I recently picked up on auction. For the price I couldn’t pass it up even though it’s a bolt mismatch. Stock was probably cleaned at some point. Mirror bore, mint. Came with a decent sling as well. Tried my best with my iPhone, but my lighting has a lot to be desired. Enjoy.

Unfortunately bolt doesn’t match the rifle, but matching to itself. Really late Mauser Oberndorf, no rib b block.

Thats a really nice rifle. The texturing/manufacturing marks on the receiver is really interesting on the late war guns. I'd like to get ahold of an original ZF41 base rifle at some point and put a repro mount mount and optic on it.

Unfortunately, mine is a bolt m/m as well(byf 45), but I’ll check the bolt when I get home and see if it matches yours. Ya just never know.

I know of a commercial rifle that ended up being a literal mint condition, matching example that was extremely cheap because the photos were bad. This was around 2020.

Those kinds of auctions are the whole reason I still browse GB. I've scored some good things listed as "Jewehr" with photos that looked like they were taken with a 1995 flip phone while the seller was fall down drunk.

I've also bought some crap that way. It's the gun auction version of buying scratchers. But on the whole I'd say I've done pretty good and come out way ahead.

Yup, you win some and also lose some. A by44 in my possession comes to mind that I got years ago on GB. Terrible pics and description that was done by an 12 year old. Took the chance, got it for cheap but I turn my head away when I walk next to it. It has a mint bore and shoots amazing which are the ONLY reasons I tolerate it.
