Another recent pick up for me. Actually got this one for a reasonable price on GB…never thought that would happen.

A nice honest byf44 l block. FN supplied bolt, stock appears to have originally been rejected, stock also has quite a bit of chatter and sloppy bolt cutout, rough finished receiver, and it has a sintered front band (edit: speed welded). All in all, really happy with this one.

Thanks Jeff for the clarification. Sintered will have welding marks on the inside then?

Sintered is powdered steel/ iron that is put in a mold at high pressure and heat, to form a shape. So it will be seamless in reality or it may show machining from the mold..
We have a great deal of sintered metal shops around me and am told this was the birth place of sintered metal in the states.

How the heck did this fly under the radar while insane junk gets bid up to the sky?? Love the rough receiver finish and chatter on that stock!! Really sweet piece you got there! Congrats

Gunbroker is weird sometimes. I suspect it was the odd features of the L block that kept a lot of the less knowledgeable bidders away. I wouldn't say I stole it, but I paid a very fair price. Being GB, I was honestly expecting it to go for way more.
